A Halloween air cannon project

Imagine walking down the street on Halloween night when suddenly you feel a puff of air against your back.

You turn around. Nothing.

No one is standing behind you, and there's nothing nearby that could explain it. You keep walking, wondering what just happened.

Then you notice something in the distance. Someone is standing beside what looks like a giant trash can. There's a large circular hole in one end, and it appears to be pointed in your direction.

Could that strange-looking contraption be responsible for the mysterious blast of air?

That's the idea behind Oliver's Halloween air cannon: a device that sends a burst of air through the atmosphere, creating an unexpected sensation from a distance.

The project combines a little physics, some everyday materials, and a bit of Halloween mischief. The goal is to explore how moving air can create an effect you can feel without necessarily seeing what's causing it.

What We're Imagining

A Halloween attraction that doesn't rely on flashing lights or loud noises. Instead, it surprises people with something invisible: moving air.

With some experimentation, a familiar trash can could become a mysterious Halloween prop.

Sometimes the things you can't see are the most surprising.
